migraine

When your head hurts

Many people, especially women, suffer from recurrent headaches. These are often dismissed with the diagnosis "migraine." Headaches have many causes. All possible aspects, such as cycle dependence, hormonal status, and musculoskeletal status, must be examined. If you suffer from recurring headache attacks, you may benefit from pain-focused diagnostics and treatment.

Atypical facial and headache

Many patients suffer from chronic pain with constant or changing pain intensity and character. Occasionally, the symptoms disappear for several months and then recur. Atypical facial pain is usually described as deep, burning, pressing, or piercing; shooting (neuropathic) pains occur. It is often difficult to pinpoint the exact location of the pain. The eye, nose, cheek, and/or temple are frequently affected. Pain radiates to the jaw and neck, thereby exceeding the anatomical limits of the trigeminal nerve. The symptoms are usually unilateral, but in one-third of cases, bilateral. Women are significantly more frequently affected than men.
